The ‘Tastevinage’ ceremony

Twice a year, in spring and autumn, the Brotherhood of The Chevaliers du Tastevin (The Knights of Wine-Taster’s Cup) brings together a jury of wine industry experts (winemakers, merchants, restaurant owners, sommeliers, oenologists and journalists) in charge of selecting the best Burgundy wines of the year. In the large Cistercian cellar of the Clos de Vougeot castle, each wine is blind tasted in order to preserve the impartiality of the jurors. At the end of the selection, the Tastevinage label, a seal, is awarded to wines that best represent their appellation and vintage.
