Whitewater sports enthusiasts can descend the Guil for more than a dozen miles (20 km) between Aiguilles and the Maison du Roi dam. Long sections of the course, classified as level III, do not present any particular navigation problem. At the level of the Combe de l'Ange Gardien, the gorge narrows around a long passage of large fallen blocks, which creates an unwieldy level IV+ chaos visible in this photo.
