Succulents of the French Riviera

Succulent plants are widespread across the French Riviera, especially between Cannes and Menton, where the cultivation of exotic plants is the most extensive. This trend, which dates back to the end of the 19th century, coincided with the tourist boom in the region. The numerous winter visitors, mostly from the United Kingdom, began to gather around themselves an original and exotic vegetation that reminded them of that encountered during their long journeys.
