The landscapes of the Alsace plain
0
0
The climate in Alsace is variable and generates morning mists in winter and spring. Since the Middle Ages, the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle has stood atop its 2,453 ft (757 m) hill. In ruins, it was completely renovated in 1900 and has imposed its mass on the plain of Alsace ever since. The morning light gives it a mysterious air according to the seasons. The panorama from the 203 ft tall (62 m) dungeon of the castle opens on the landscape. What a beautiful garden supposedly shouted King Louis XIV when he saw the Alsace plain for the first time from there.
