Mounts of the Norman Switzerland

From Clécy, the Orne rushes between shale mountains of the Massif Armoricain that it could not dig and that it circumvents through many meanders. As soon as entering the gorges, visitors meet the Mont des Vêpres (695 ft / 212m) then the Rochers des Parcs bar, made up of conglomerates and sandstone purple with iron oxide and white quartz. The Pain de Sucre (561 ft / 171 m) and the Mont du Père (889 ft / 271 m) dominate the river's course. Further on is the Mont de la Foudre (905 ft / 276 m). This mountainous ensemble gave the region the nickname Norman Switzerland.
