The negative hands of the Pech-Merle
0
0
For years, prehistorians have been interested in the technique used by Paleolithic men to create negative hands. As an explanation for the process, scientists mainly suggest two methods. The color is either projected (or spat) around the hand using a tube, or it is simply deposited around it. In all cases, the limb is pressed against the chosen wall. It is by removing it that its shape appears negative. This trace, distinct in the majority of cases, often extends down to the wrist.
