About thirty species of frogs hide in the cloud forest of Cusuco Park in Honduras. Fourteen are in danger due to a fungus, including the Plectrohyla exquisita or Spikethumb frog. This endemic species breeds near streams of the lower montane wet forest, between 1,490 and 1,680 m of altitude.
