In order to continue to provide its body with oxygen during its high-speed race which can reach a to speed of 80 miles per hour (130fm/h), the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) has large nostrils to allow a better ventilation. Its lungs and heart are - proportionally to its size - the most developed of all felines.
