With its soft eyes and large ears, the Cotentin donkey (Equus asinus) is easy to pet. Children adore it and it has great patience for them. While it is mischievous and playful in the company of its fellow creatures, it will always be calm and docile when out walking. These donkeys hate solitude and know no hierarchy. They love to be of service to people, and are particularly good with Alzheimer's patients and people with disabilities. It has been walking the paths of the Mont-Saint-Michel bay since the Middle Ages and has found its place in Norman traditions.
