Only five soap factories in the Marseille region - Savonnerie Fer à Cheval, Savonnerie du Midi, Marius Fabre, Savonnerie le Sérail and Rampal Latour - continue to manufacture Marseille soap with respect for centuries-old know-how and traditions. While their range of products has diversified, they continue to produce the iconic 1.3 lbs (600 g) cube stamped with the name of the soap factory and the 72% rate indicating the guaranteed vegetable fat content.
