Greater flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus) parade in winter after their pre-nuptial plumage molt, which starts in June/July and ends in October/November. Their new feathers then exhibit vibrant colors that are decisive in the choice of their new mate for the nesting season to come. At the peak of their coloring and seduction, they, therefore, devote themselves to the ritual courtship displays that allow mating.
