The "climat" is a specific term given to the wine-growing terroir of Burgundy. Each "climat" is a parcel of vines, which has been demarcated by men for centuries, some since the Middle Ages. On July 4, 2015, the climates of Burgundy were listed as a UNESCO heritage.
