Les chutes Takakkaw, du parc national Yoho dans les Rocheuses canadiennes, sont formées de quatre paliers. La rivière coule d'abord en deux cascades étroites cachées à l'intérieur du canyon, près du sommet. Elle parcourt ensuite un chenal étroit qui forme les deux premiers paliers. Les chutes sont d’une puissance extraordinaire et font en tout 384 m. C'est plus de sept fois la hauteur des chutes Niagara!
