Burgundy grapes

Unlike wines from the Bordeaux region, Burgundy wines are not blends of different grapes but are made from four main grape varieties: Pinot noir and Gamay for red wines; Chardonnay and Aligoté for white. Pinot noir and Chardonnay are the most common. Pinot noir is appreciated for its aromas of red fruits and spices, while Chardonnay is enjoyed for its minerality and taste of flowers, white and yellow-fleshed fruits.
