The different Leucate entities share 11.18 miles (18 km) of fine sand along the Leucate coastline. The width of these beaches varies from 1,312 feet (400 m) to just a few meters for some. On the opposite side, on the Leucate pond, the late afternoon is illuminated by magnificent sunsets with a breathtaking view of Mount Canigou. Famous among wind sports enthusiasts thanks to the presence of the tramontana, the beaches of Coussoules and La Franqui are a big part of the region’s fame.
