The Lot river banks
2
0
The Lot is the last great affluent on the right bank of the Garonne. It is therefore naturally compared to its neighbor, the Tarn with which it shares the same origin in the mount Lozère and the same east-west direction, among other similarities. It begins as a mere trickle of water at the end of the ‘Sources du Lot’ trail in Lozère to then become a river flowing through four departments before ending up in the Garonne. Here, it runs along the medieval village Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, surrounded by oak woods, typical landscape of the region.
