Leptoglossus occidentalis - Punaise américaine du pin

La punaise du pin est un insecte de la famille des Coreidae.
Son corps, à dominante brune, mesure jusqu’à 20 millimètres de long (hors antennes et pattes).
Ses antennes fines mesurent jusqu’à 12 millimètres.
Il s’agit d’une espèce phytophage d’origine nord-américaine (Montagnes Rocheuses). Elle se répand vers l’intérieur du continent européen, probablement arrivée dans déchargements de bois nord-américains.
Elle se nourrit des cônes de conifères en cours de formation et également des graines contenus dans ces cônes.
Sur cette photo, on peut observer la punaise installée sur un cône vert.
Inoffensive pour l’homme, elle recherche un abri dans les habitations humaines dès fin septembre.
