Lead dog and pack leader
0
0
In a double tandem team where the dogs are arranged in pairs, it is possible to have only one lead dog like here. This lead dog is very rarely the pack leader but rather a very obedient dog, placed lower in the pack but able to maintain a very strong relationship with his musher to whom he is totally submissive. The only master on board his hitch, the musher does not intervene at all in the completely different hierarchy of the pack, which is dominated by the most respected pack leader.
