The cooling tunnel

A specific type of furnace serves during the final heating process at Lalique. Once the part is shaped, it must be placed in this oven to cool evenly while eliminating the tension of the glass. Also called a cooling tunnel, its temperature gradually falls from 806° F (430° C) to room temperature. Depending on the size and volume of the crystal piece, the annealing time can last from 24 to 96 hours.
