Passionate about horses and a former eventing rider, Olivia Saelens transformed in 2015 the saddle horse stables of the La Chaule estate into a stud farm baptized Haras des Étincelles (Sparks Stud). There, she raises or hosts thoroughbreds, from foaling to resting horses. She organized the stud around twenty boxes, an Havrincourt ring, a round pen, and all the equipment necessary for foaling, pregnant mares, and resting horses. Olivia Saelens, who has had her pink and white coat since 2014, presents her yearlings for sale and participates with her foals in model and gait competitions. The foal Éclair Étincelle, from the first generation born at the Haras des Étincelles, became the first winner of her breeding in September 2019.
