The Tarn, one of the main French rivers
1
0
The Tarn is a river that crosses the department of the same name from east to west and whose source is in the Lozère department. The river crosses the landscape from Trébas to Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe and has been used since Antiquity for navigation and trade in Tarn products from Gaillac to Bordeaux. The same gauges (flat-bottomed wooden boats) that were used to transport these goods still exist today in modernized versions. They allow one to embark on a cruise along the Tarn from Albi or Aiguelèze, crossing many bridges, ports and locks that line the passage of the river.
