The support of national institutions

The Villa du Temps Retrouvé in Cabourg recreates Marcel Proust's early 20th-century universe. Such a process was made possible thanks to the support of national museums and major institutions such as the Réunion des Musées Métropolitains de Rouen, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (National Library of France), or the Mobilier National (National Furniture). They allowed bringing together nearly 350 objects and works of art within the villa, which does not have a dedicated collection. Some will stay there for a season, others for five years or exceptionally a little more. These loans and deposits already allow the Villa du Temps Retrouvé, inaugurated in 2021, to exhibit on its walls significant works by Claude Monet, René-Xavier Prinet, or Eugène Boudin.
