The semaphore of Dramont
0
0
At the top of Cap du Dramont, 416 ft (127 m) above sea level, the Dramont semaphore stands on an 11,482 sqft (3,500 m²) military site offering a panoramic view of the bay of Agay and the Estérel massif. The French Navy building, constructed at the beginning of the 19th century, was restored between 2018 and 2020 as part of a redevelopment program of nineteen lookouts of the Mediterranean coast. It forms a fully glazed 65 sqft (20 m²) panoramic cabin, located at the top of a tower overlooking the rest of the building at almost 68 ft (21 m) of height. Its strategic position on the eponymous cape allows maritime, land, and air surveillance over the entire area.
