What is planting density?

0
The vine is a perennial plant whose growth must be controlled. The first solution is to limit planting density, that is, the number of grapevines per hectare. Set by the AOC rules, planting densities vary between regions. In Burgundy, vineyards range from 4,000 to 10,000 vines per hectare. High density forces the vines to share nutrients and the roots must therefore lower deeper into the soil to feed. This is how the wine typicity is shaped.
