At the end of spring, winegrowers trim the vines to control growth and help the grapes mature. The ends of fruiting branches are cut at the top of the plant and on the sides. This trimming facilitates the fructification of the vine and avoids the accumulation of vegetation. It also allows sunlight to reach into the heart of the plant and thus limits moisture and the development of cryptogamic diseases.
