The Yonne hydrographic network
The Yonne hydrographic network is simplified to a few large rivers due to a strong absorption of water in the subsoil of the very permeable plateaus of Burgundy. With the exception of the western flank of the Puisaye oriented towards the Loire, it is essentially organized around the Yonne - pictured here at the level of the Joigny diversion - which gradually brings together the basins of its tributaries as it approaches from its confluence with the Seine.
