The black tip shark is the most common shark in Polynesian waters

Sharks adopt significant postures well known to divers before attacking, like lowering their pectoral fins. Then, each individual has its own behavior (contortions, swimming exhibition). The attacks occur when a shark defends its territory, is hungry or confuses man with prey which is rare in Polynesia because of the good visibility under water and the absence of overfishing.
