The leading shellfishing port in France

The port of Granville has a rich fishing past. It hosted codfishers from Newfoundland in Canada, privateers during wars against Great Britain, and now shellfishers. Using trawls, traps or dredges, Granville is the leading shellfishing port in France. Scallops, whelks, spider crabs, lobsters, clams, and oysters leave for all of Europe from its quays. Next to the port, the Marité three-master still bears witness to the past of the Terre-Neuvas.
