The western portal of the basilica Notre-Dame

The bell tower of Dole's basilica Notre-Dame in the Jura department corresponds to the western portal of the building. It has the particularity of being in Renaissance style under a porch entirely in Gothic style. Its structure is reminiscent of the organ case in the nave, suggesting that these two elements were produced at the same time. The basilica has other accesses, a north portal completed in 1554 in flamboyant Gothic style and a south portal, both probably built by the master mason Antoine le Rupt.
