The landing pontoon of the Anse Noire creek

0
The long landing pontoon of the Anse Noire creek on the Caribbean coast of southwestern Martinique allows the fishermen's gum tree boats or the pleasure boats to dock and their occupants to reach the wild beach lined with black sand. It also allows one to move forward in the dry to the sea to observe the fish, turtles, and sponges of the seabed, renowned for its diversity, its clarity, and the richness of its fauna. Fishermen settle there in the evening, while tourists stroll and children use the pontoon as a diving board. The Anse Noire creek also offers boaters an anchorage without difficulty of access but with a somewhat uncertain attachment due to the irregular behavior of the sand and the rock. Subject to a swell from the north, it is rather limited to daytime periods.
