0
In the valley of the Vecchio river, the Trinichellu (the Corsican train) crosses a singular bridge perched 84 m (276 ft) high (in the foreground). This railway viaduct connects the communes of Vivario and Venacco. It was built between 1890 and 1892 by Gustave Eiffel, the creator of the famous Parisian tower. Stone pillars and arches support this all-metal construction of 170 m (556 ft) long. Since 1976, it is classified as a French Historic Monument.
