The Vignemale massif and its Pique Longue is a Pyrenean summit located on the Franco-Spanish border. Some 10,820 ft (3,298 m) high, it is the highest point of the French Pyrenees and one of the highest peaks of the whole chain. The usual route to its summit crosses most of the Oussoue glacier from the caves of Bellevue on the GR10 hiking route. Particularly imposing, the Pique Longue is pointy enough to be visible from many peaks in the Pyrenees and even from the city of Lourdes.
