The oldest of the national stud farms

Normandy is home to two so-called national stud farms: the Haras du Pin, nicknamed the Versailles of the horse (photo), and the Haras de Saint-Lô. The Haras National du Pin is the oldest of the national stud farms. It has had the status of a public administrative establishment (EPA) since 2016 and benefits from joint management by the Region, the Orne department, and the State. A place dedicated to equestrian events and competitions as well as to training in the various equestrian professions (saddlery, harnessing, reproduction, etc.), it also hosts a Center for the Valorization of Norman Equidae.
