The Piedmont of Haut-Languedoc

The vineyard of Château La Liquière covers 55 hectares. It is nestled on the heights of the AOC Faugères appellation. The appellation extends over a precious and atypical terroir for the Languedoc region, made up exclusively of schists (rock with a flaky appearance) and over different altitudes which allows the cultivation of several types of grape varieties. Called the Piedmont of Haut-Languedoc, this terroir is part of a special ecosystem where vines and wild nature blend together. The climate here is Mediterranean and the soils of the appellation are among the oldest soils in the world! These difficult and harsh soils make the wines from the Faugères appellation unique wines in France.
