The small boudoir

0
After the death of Louis XIV, the pompous style imposed by the king on the court on the rich residences was abandoned. Numerous private mansions were built under Louis XV, such as the Château du Haut in Villarceaux. A certain comfort prevailed over pomp and rooms became more intimate. This was the era of the boudoir. Harmony was sought, as in this small boudoir with windows overlooking the garden. The Chinese-inspired wall hangings highlight the plates and vases. At this time, the French East India Company imported numerous Chinese and Japanese porcelains from Asia.
