The Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park is located on the French side in the southwest of the Jura massif. This crescent-shaped mountain range skirts the northwest of the Alpine massif and stretches over 186 miles (300 km) in length in France, Switzerland and Germany. It culminates at 5,643 feet (1,720 m) at Crêt de la Neige in the department of Ain. It gave its name to the French department of Jura and the Swiss canton of Jura.
