The visit to Habitation Clément on the island of Martinique begins with the 40-acre (16 ha) botanical park created in 1990. Labeled a Jardin Remarquable (remarkable garden) by the Ministry of Culture in 2015, it is home to more than three hundred species of trees and tropical plants and offers a good overview of the richness of the Martinican flora. There are also many water features and a sculpture garden. Its dozen contemporary works created by Bernar Venet, Thierry Alet, Jeppe Hein, Christian Lapie, Pablo Reinoso, or Miguel Chevalier link the historical heritage of the distillery and the Clément Foundation that highlights contemporary artists. The palm grove of around thirty species, the tropical orchard, and the sugar cane field leading to the Clément distillery complete the tour.
