The Lac de Longemer is nicknamed the mirror of a thousand reflections. Due to the quality of its waters, it indeed displays constantly changing natural light. Early in the morning, the lake is actively sought-after by fishermen. Its fishing reputation dates back to the beginning of the 9th century when Charlemagne caught a legendary pike. It is described as so majestic that the emperor would have returned it to the water with a golden bell around its neck.
