Beyond the Reception Building is a magnificent semicircular Memorial in the center of which a 7m high bronze statue represents “The Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Tides”. The tone is set, the cemetery is designed so that the visitor always sees an alignment of white crosses wherever he is. In the extension of the basin where the Memorial is reflected stretches out the central alley serving the 10 squares of graves where 9,387 soldiers rest, including 4 women and 307 unknowns.
