The Corsican coast of the southern Ajaccio Gulf between the municipalities of Pietrosella and Portigliolo alternates beaches (Silver Beach, Verghia beach), urbanized areas with many villas and second homes and natural areas classified of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest. This is the case of the small Piana island, in the foreground, less famous and less crowded than its eponymous sister of the Lavezzi Islands at the southern tip of the island.
