Blast furnace

A blast furnace is an industrial facility that mostly converts iron ore into liquid cast iron by burning coke, which serves as both a fuel and a reducing agent. Although the cast iron produced is a material in its own right, this alloy is generally intended for refining in steel mills. Despite its long history of operation, the blast furnace remains an extremely complex and difficult tool to master. However, its exceptional thermal and chemical efficiency has enabled it to survive technical changes.
