The great seaport of Marseille

0
This photo is taken from the Vauban district located at the foot of the hill supporting Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde Basilica. It embraces - behind Sainte-Marie-Majeure Cathedral nicknamed La Major - the Eastern Basins of the great seaport of Marseille (GPMM), previously known as the autonomous port of Marseille. The district of the autonomous port extends over 43.4 mi (70 km) of coasts, from Marseille in the east to the Western Basins of Lavéra, Caronte, Port-de-Bouc, Fos-sur-Mer, and Port Saint-Louis-du-Rhône at the mouth of the Rhône.
