The Przewalski horse has a white mark on the tip of its nose above its black nostrils. This peculiarity of its coat is due to the pangaré gene. It is well known among the primitive breeds of domestic horses like the Fjord or Exmoor and in the Tibetan wild donkey (Kiang). It testifies to a wild type and forms a counter-illumination which allows camouflage.
