The collapse ditch of the Limagne
0
0
The Limagne is a large collapse ditch particularly visible from the top of Puy de Sancy. Usually assimilated to a plain, it has been the site of nearly two hundred recorded volcanic emission points. Today, they are mostly eroded or filled by alluvium in the case of the maars, magmatic explosion craters puncturing the Auvergne soil even at the heart of its historic capital Clermont-Ferrand.
