The Fort of Vizzavona or Fort of Vaux The fort was built in 1772 under the command of the corsican governor De Vaux, on the path of the Vizzavona pass, as a strategic checkpoint at nearly 1200 meters above sea level facing the Monte d'Oro. Today in a state of ruin, the fort is since August 4, 1996, classified as a Historic Monument.
