The Grand Palais is a Parisian monument, located on the edge of the Champs-Elysées opposite the Petit Palais in the 8th arrondissement. The nave, the largest in Europe at the time of its construction (1900), was listed a historic monument since June 12, 1975. Its immense glass roof rises 147 ft (45 meters) high under the dome. It extends over more than 656 ft (200 meters) and covers an area of 3,33 acres (13,500 m²) in one piece.
