The Gargoyle Gecko (Rhacodactylus leachianus) is locally called 'the tree devil'. During the day, it remains motionless on the tree barks, perfectly camouflaged, and it emits many different cries and noises depending on the situation : defending its territory, calling the females, scaring away predators. Devoid of eyelids, it licks its eyeballs with its tongue to clean them.
