The Angels’ Hillside (Engelberg in Alsatian language) is a location with an evocative name. The wines of this terroir are airy and elegant and are marked by its limestone nature. The hillside extends over the southern face of the Scharrachberg, a hill located in the communes of Dahlenheim and Scharrachbergheim, a few kilometres from Strasbourg. The white wine of Engelberg, classified Grand Cru in 1985, has been known since the 9th century. The terroir allows the Riesling and Gewurztraminer grape varieties to flourish, producing fine, saline wines without austerity. The Mélanie Pfister Estate cultivates one hectare of vines on the Engelberg Hill.
