0
Located at an altitude of 6,748 ft (2,057 m) in the Hautes-Alpes department, the Lautaret pass allows going from the Guisane valley - the Guisane having its source at the Lautaret - to that of the Romanche. On the Route des Grandes Alpes, the pass allows traffic between Grenoble and Briançon and access to Italy through the Alps. It also offers the possibility of reaching the Maurienne valley via the southern slope of the Galibier pass (8,667 ft / 2,642 m) by taking the departmental road starting from the Lautaret.
