Built in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks, the castle has a wine-making purpose. During the Renaissance, the castle was improved by Dom Jean XI Loisier, abbot de l'Abbaye de Cîteaux. He built the towers and the main building. The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin has also renovated the place and made it a flagship of wineries.
